Ball, pebble, rod, tube and compartment mills have a  cylindrical/conical shell rotating or a horizontal axes and a charged with a grinding media and the size reduction or pilverizing is effected by the tumbling of the balls or pebbles on the materials between them. The mills may be operated wet or try, in either batch or open circuit use or in closed circuit with sizes classifiers.
